Moving threat management gateway databases to a different SQL Instance

This probably isn't the proper forum for the question, but I don't know which forum to use.

I've been tasked with consolidating an organization's various SQL instances, and I'm trying to figure out if using a SQL instance/server other than the local MSFW/ISARS is a supported scenario for Threat Management Gateway.

Is it possible and supported to move databases and configure Threat Management Gateway to use a remote 2012 SQL Server?
