I just joined a company that has over 300 SQL Servers to upgrade to SQL 2008 R2 Standard Edition from various levels of SQL Server. I have look at links and could spend days looking at links - so is there a technical document that I can download that will explain the steps to upgrading to SQL 2008 R2? I do not want to wait to get an error and then look it up I want to PLAN AHEAD.
Most servers are 2005 Standard Edition but some are 2000.
Where would I start first? The online help takes too much time to select one small piece at a time.
