I have windows xp. While I was uninstalling Norton 360 and running another program (Avast checking browser addons), I got a message that a certain file (don't know which) was being changed, and am I sure I want to do that. I said no, but it kept asking me again. I could not stop the processes in motion, nor could I get rid of this message. Finally (stupidly) I said yes.
The Norton finished uninstalling, but Avast was stuck. I finally shut down the computer using the task manager. When I rebooted, I could not open any programs except Avast. I started reinstalling programs, but then realized I could system restore. So I did.
When the computer rebooted after the system restore process I got this message: "Your SQL server installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with (unable to load sqlboot.dll) Please install then re-run setup to correct this problem."
And the system was not restored.
I don't know what sql is, nor do I know what I should install and re-run to fix this.
Can anyone help? Thank you.
