No shortcuts for SQL in start menu, SQL not found running (from task manager), but SQL Server 2014 appears to be installed in program files

How do I make sure that Microsoft SQL Server 2014 is installed correctly to be used with my Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2013 (mainly want to use Visaul Basic language) with all the tools and shortcuts listed in my start menu.

I have upgraded to visual studio professional 2013 from vs2012 with a license that I purchased online from microsoft.  Initially installed in feb of this year and then uninstalled and reinstalled it last month from the link provided to do so from my online receipt from microsoft.  I have windows 7 home premium (32 bit) running on my computer with 4G RAM.  No sql is listed in the list of programs (start menu).  Nothing mentioned about SQL in task manager.  In programs and features from control panel lots of entries pertaining to SQL 2014 and other versions are listed.  In program files on my drive where operating system is installed, there are directories for Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition.  Under the Microsoft SQL Server directory there are directories for 80, 90, 100, 110 and 120.  Each of them (at least for 120 and 110) has several files and directories a few levels deep.  Sorry for all the background info.

Please direct me to the proper forum to ask this question.  Thank you.

Please help give me a good quick solution.  Thank you.
