Hi All,
We are planning to come up with the approach for remediating SQL server 2005 objects which are compatible for SQL 2012
- Run UA on SQL 2005 using target as SQL 2012
- UA report will give us breaking/discontinued changes which needs to be remediated
- We would fix these breaking/discontinued changes and create new/modified SQL scripts
- Run UA again on SQL 2005 using target as SQL 2012 to ensure there are no more breaking changes
- Remediated scripts will be delivered to the client which they would eventually upgrade to SQL 2012
I just wanted to check if the above approach is fine and do I need consider any other important points which I am missing here to ensure smooth upgrade/migration of SQL 2005 databases to SQL 2012.
Please do let me know....Thanks.
