SQL 2014 Crash Dumps

Hi,

I wasn't certain which category to post this in.

Basically I have a application that runs a SQL 2014 Database instance.

In the folder where Application runs from on the file share. (as uses map to shared folder on SQL server then run the executable)

We get quite a few crash dumps per day. typically 0KB, but sometimes they will be a few hundred KB.

You cant read the file, have asked the supplier of the application but they have never seen them before and dont know whats causing it.

Users however have reported slow performance. But its hard to measure, as the previous version of the application did not run on a SQL database.

The server that the SQL 2014 is hosted on is Virtual, but its host is really high spec. Probaly 20 times more powerful than it needs to be. So I know its not a hardware issue.

I have had a look round internet and everyone seems to say if you see crash dumps you need to log it with Microsoft. Not actually certain how you do that without paying for a paid incident.

Regards

Richy
