Hi.
We ran into the non-yielding process issue on our sql server 2005 SP2 server this morning, and I was wondering if it would be best to upgrade in dev to sql server 2005 SP3 and then cumulative update 10 and 13, or upgrade to sql server 2005 sp4 and then cumulative
update 2.
I'm leaning toward SP4, since it's got a lot of other fixes, and minimizes risk by having fewer updates, but would really appreciate confirmation about this, as well as details on upgrade steps, since the release notes don't go into details, such as whether
we need to shutdown sql server first, or not.
I realize 2005 is very old, and we're planning on migrating the apps running on this server to our later versions, but there are hundreds of reports that need to be modified and/or tested first.
It's a pain that the books online weren't updated with SP4, and I didn't want to have any issues during the upgrade, or after.
I'd really appreciate any advice, etc. you have for me.
